a nice review from Beer Advocate

"Poured a cloudy reddish orange color with quite a bit of quickly dissipating mostly white head. Smells malty and grainy. Taste is not too impressive. Definitely taste the wheat though with a bit of a dry aftertaste from the cranberry coming through. Very bubbly feel. Not too drinkable in my mind. Probably would get sick of this after a couple."

that's being very generous. Such a waste of 2 spots in the winter smapler

All non-traditional Sam Adams flavors suck donkey dick. I miss Manchester Brewing, RIP.

Old Fezziwig is gold, as well as the holiday porter. I'm also a huuge fan of the new wee heavy sam adams has out. Long Trail double bag is so win. My first time trying it, some old guy showed up to a party at my house because he was stalking one of my friends (none of us knew that part for the first like hour until she started freaking out). He brought a 12 pack of this. So I thought he was alright. After we found out the deal and kicked him out, he was still nice enough to leave us his beer, this delicious beer. My vote was for the bitch to get over it and let him come back hahaha.

Another few recents I've fallen in love with: Rogue Chocolate Stout. That shit is fucking awesome. Really sweet, and a much higher quality stout than, say, Guiness, which isn't saying much, but still.

And no microbrew thread about New England Microbrews would be complete without mentioning Smuttynose. My buddy and I went halfs on a keg of Robust Porter, and that shit was gone in like a week.

Oh really? I wonder if your dad knows my uncle. I think he drove stock cars there in the late 70s/80s

I literally just stumbled across this shit 'cause it was in the weirdo micro cooler at Blanchard's when I was working there, and I stuffed one in the "employee special" case I was making for myself 'cause it had cow titties on it and made me laugh.

Man... if I drink a six pack of the Double Bag in one night I'll be in vomit city.

Therefore, I'm cutting myself off with two of those when I get to trying them.

i drank 12 Double Bags once before a show, i have no memory of it.

i want to try the Triple Bag.

for high alcohol content, the Sam Adams Wee Heavy and Imperial White are both really good, and 10%.

I had this last night and it was super yummy. I'm not a big dopplebock fan, but apparently I love dopplesticke.

My favorite New England brewer is Maine Beer Company. TOP NOTCH. Smuttynose is my next favorite.

Also...The local stores have been really pushing Boulevard Brewing Company lately (from KC,MO). I tried a few and they all have been very good. The best was their White IPA (a style I have never tried before). It's a limited edition brew, so I encourage people to jump on it while it's around.
