_________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 9:28am - Anthony ""] this sounds more like an overbooked show than a fest. Also, last time I checked Melrose wasn't Boston. How about "Melrose Mayhem Fest?" |
__________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 9:40am - SteveOTB ""] I like the ideas of over booked shows when every band has a half hour set because seriously $8.00 for for 9 bands adds up to 88 cents a band where you can go to Drifters in Nashua, NH and see 3 bands for $10.00; you get more for your money. |
_________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 9:42am - Anthony ""] i agree that you get more for your money, but 4 bands a show is about as much as I can handle, 5 tops. |

__________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 9:51am - SteveOTB ""] Yeah Tony Danza is worth the $8.00 alone so once again you'll get more for your money. Maybe I'll talk to Chris about an upcoming tenative Killwhitneydead show to see if only 4-5 bands can play because personally I want Killwhitneydead to have a fucking hour set so I can hear every single one of their songs live. |

________________________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 10:22am - slowlypeelingtheflesh ""] its cool im kind of coming off as a jerk, but there are seriously to many bands on this..and its not your fault but it just bothers me |
___________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 10:30am - SteveOTB ""] It's cool, I do see your point though because booking 9 bands on a show on a week night is pretty crazy. Do the math, 30 minutes per band, 10 minute setup/breakdowns, the shows never starting on time, your talking roughly a 7 and a half hour show so my guess is each band will probably have 20 minutes which will make it a 4-5 hour show. |
_____________________________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 11:05am - slowlypeelingtheflesh nli ""] you guys should ask some of the bands to get off of this show, especially because LCTR and tony danza are on tour |
___________________________________ [Mar 30,2006 11:16am - SteveOTB ""] Eh it's too late, all the bands we're promised so maybe I'll talk to Chris (Sin City Bookings & Promotions) to see if he can start putting on shows with like 4-5 bands instead of 7-9. |

_____________________________ [Apr 6,2006 10:28am - cav ""] really! i dont understand why...a headlining band should at least get 30 mins....i have a show that i booked with 8 bands running from 6-11:30, each band getting 25-30 sets plus 10-15 setup...i dont understand why this cant happen at this show?! |

______________________________________ [Apr 6,2006 10:45am - the_reverend ""] that's sort of what the other shows I've been there have been like. go there and light a fire under their asses. is it really going until 11:30? they never go that late there in my experience. it's usually over by 9 or 10. |
_____________________________ [Apr 6,2006 10:45am - cav ""] ah, theres the problem |
__________________________________ [Apr 6,2006 11:31am - SteveOTB ""] Lets see; 9 bands with half hour sets each would make it last till 9:30 that's not including setup and break down which should be 15 minutes total. 7.5 minutes may be enough to set up then another 7.5 to break down so all in all my estimate is that this show could last till 11:30 but that's just a rough guess. Make each band have 20 and have Tony Danza and ION have 30 minute sets, 15 minute setup/break down for each band and this thing could end at 10:40. |
__________________________________ [Apr 6,2006 11:40am - SteveOTB ""] OK just found out that My Bitter End is no longer playing so now this thing could end at either 10:10 or 11:00. |

What band are you in Cav? If you want to be on one of Sin City Bookings and Promotions' shows go to his myspace at http://www.myspace.com/sincitybookings I think the shows he puts on are pretty good. A while back he booked With Dead Hands Rising in which we were supposed to play but of course our guitarist got lost coming to the show so we had to cancel at the last minute. |

_____________________________________ [Apr 6,2006 5:07pm - the_reverend ""] guess I'm heading off to this in a bit. |
_____________________________________ [Apr 6,2006 7:56pm - the_reverend ""] well, it started late, like I said. this time, they were missing a cable to hook up the mic. they needed some chord that screws into the pa. all the bands have short sets. pillars of autumn: in the beginning of their set, the PA was fucked up. It was so over blown. they finally figured that out I think. I saw this band last time I was down here, but they were called what words fail or something like that. Decent hardcore, some more melodic guitars at the end. The singer kept calling people assholes cause there wasn't a constant mosh on. They had demos, but since they just renamed the band and the CD said the ne band, I'm going to guess it's the demo for the old band. |
_____________________________________ [Apr 6,2006 9:28pm - the_reverend ""] last chance to reason: guys from maine. Eat lobstah. with in 2 seconds of the start of their set, the PA was on the ground due to that screwed in chord. That was basically what was going down all during their set. The guitarists are all over the place. at the end of their set, one of the guitar players put down his guitar and started moshing it up, but the guitar was sorely missed in the last breakdown. |
