I'm not a fan of rectifiers these days, but I personally think the dual sounds worlds better than the triple. Plus there are less components to worry about replacing, haha.

I recommended an ENGL to Sly months ago, he seemed skeptical. I did offer to let him play through my powerball. Meh.

Only huge faggots care about drums sounding non-digital? Whatever you say, buddy.

Nobody should be skeptical of the awesome power of ENGL.

yeah engl's do crush and are generally undeniable. Best amp I have ever played is an Engl SE, but I don't have 4k to dich on an amp right now.

I will probably be selling the dual rec for 1300. That includes a cover for it, cover for the footswitch, and new tubes.

youre pretty far off there tiger. first of all, the rectos made 10ish-15 years ago (2 channel) are far superior sounding than that of the majority of rectos made past 2000ish (3 channel).

Also, due to the extra headroom, the Triple Rec is a different animal than the Dual, sonically.

This is what electronic drums will lead to, every time.

What do you do when the batteries run out on stage?

I think once the amps are sorted out, that will help a lot.

Really, you guys just need to make the dynamic more uneven...

like, one of the things that always worked for TTOS is that if you couldn't make out what we were doing due to bad acoustics or shitty levels or whatever, the parts were dissimilar enough to make a strong contrast, you could tell where we were in the song and such, or at least that a big chance happened. I think with the electric kit, it makes it so uneveness and inconsistency is less of an option, so everything seems TOO consistent, if that makes sense.

So, i ended up buying the mesa triaxis and the mesa 2:90 power amp seems to sound the best of all the shit i've tried...

Again to reiterate my earlier opinion: I would never use an electronic kit live because even amongst educated musicians, there are still people who will make WRONG assumptions about the drums, or the drummers' abilities.

The fact is, with modern velocity sensitive pads, and humanized multi-sample drumkits (like DFH superior, or BFD) it has really reached a point where if you set it up right, there will be NO difference between electric vs. acoustic kit.

The other fact is, no matter how you explain it or demonstrate it, there's still always going to be a shit-ton of people who won't believe you.

I, for one, never want my playing to be judged by the piece of gear in my hand. I'd hope you feel the same way about your drumming.

p.s. - I'm all for sampled drums live, I'd just prefer to see an acoustic kit with triggers over an electronic kit.

Also, if you end up not liking that tri-axis, sell it to me cheap ;) Those are one of my all time favorites. I could just never afford one.

Electronic sounds are fantastic these days, but there's still nothing better than a good ole acoustic kit.
