I'm sure we'd laugh if someone posted a video of I don't know, Ken Lay, being lured into a Mercedes and dropped off in front of some people Enron fucked over. Because it's funny to see people get freaked out by shit most of us would never notice. But in such a topic I doubt you'd post about how it's wrong to laugh at that circumstance because of your selective morality. I am not encouraging any "white guilt" over being a member of the working poor, only suggesting that people may want to reflect on why they are expressing racist and antagonistic ideas towards people they share many concerns with. Just because a thread wasn't overtly political, and I would argue that this one was, doesn't mean it can't be commented on critically. I would debate whether my morality is selective or realistic. I generally don't look for reasons to get offended, I think that this case was in particularly poor taste. The only other political discussion I have engaged in on here was with some NSBM guy from NH. |
