This story reeks of bullshit. Firstly, the poster is anon. Second, you do realize that if ANY government official left a gun unattended, and it was publically discharged, the story would be all over the news. Local AND national, especially with the media's current focus on police, security, and gun control.

Police don't carry 9mm anymore. The service pistol of the now is the .40 S&W in any make that you prefer. HK also makes a USP .40.

could always take the serial numbers off but you'd get in more trouble if they caught you with a gun with no serial numbers on it. so what do you do? don't get caught. personally i would've taken the fucking thing. actually two of my friends are off to jail for possesion of stolen firearms for a long time. one of the guys has previous stolen firearms / resisting arrest etc. charges (idiot) and it's the first charge for the other guy. not too sure of the final sentence just yet but i'm sure it'll be hefty.

dood, there are plenty of police agencies that still use a 9mm. My father is a detective and he carries a Glock 19. He told me his dept. issues Speer Gold Dot 124gr+p. The round is not something you wanna get hit with. All I know is I don't wanna get shot by a BB gun, .22lr, or 9mm.
And yeah you guys are idiots for even picking the gun up!
