I'm probably going to buy my first laptop this year.

This won't be it.

Mac laptops are pretty slick, but I think this thing is too much cash for a bunch of gimicky fluff.

what is the processor?
65nm, I think, but what name?

that isn't a bad price for an ultra portable.

naw its not yea they do have some way over priced compies im not gonna lie but they have reasonable shit too

refurbs are cheap from them.
but then you are buying 2 generations ago instead of 1 generation ago.
I've had a laptop with that processor in it for a year.

T7300 ? does that make sense for a name? i dunno what they are called

i dunno never looked into refurbs

[Jan 20,2008 5:32pm - the_reverend ""]
the t7300 is in line.
must be the 65nm verion.

the 90nm is a T7200 and the 90mm 2.1ghz is the T7400
 _________________________________
[Jan 20,2008 5:36pm - sxealex ""]
oh word yea the t7500 is in the 1299 version
 ______________________________________
[Jan 20,2008 5:40pm - the_reverend ""]
there are T7600 and T7800 now too.
if you didn't know, mac got intel to shrink the footprint of the t7x00 line to take up a lot less room.

I would need to look it up, but all the t7x00 might be 65nm and not 90nm. not sure.

when I originally saw the prices, they were $3099 for a 1.8ghz and a 32gb SSD

yea the shrunken one is only in that new laptop tho

[Jan 20,2008 5:44pm - the_reverend ""]
yes, the new mac air... is that not the price you quoted above?
if that's for a normal macbook, that's a crappy price and 2x dell's cost for a D620 with better specs.

[Jan 20,2008 5:44pm - sxealex ""]
macbook is 1 inch thich macbook air is like .7 inches at the biggest part and something around .2 inches at the smallest. macbook air is the one with the shrunken core 2 duo

Jesus. I'd hate to see what constitutes a 'bad' price for one.

then again, I don't want to defend the mac or pc. if either one of them comes out with a 45nm quadcore laptop, I will jump on it.

thing looks awesome, but no cd drive or usb ports?
how big are these hard-drives?
how am i going to get my cd's on my computer?
this could change the way we use computers.
or atleast apple's trying to make us.
i think i'll just get a macbook pro for $200 more and have a bigger screen and a cd drive.

the problem with macs is that you pay a premium for the "cool look" but in the end, their hardware specs are a year behind. Which dell laptop model did you have?
