Tully, you're in Boston, right? http://www.bphc.org/programs/infectiousdis...za/fluvaccinefinder/Pages/Home.aspx

Can I get the flu from getting the vaccine?
No, the vaccine contains a killed virus and cannot give you the flu. Some people may experience slight pain or redness at the injection site or a slight achy feeling for a day or two. Many find taking over-the-counter pain relievers alleviate the symptoms.

I never get the flu so I don’t need to be vaccinated, right?
Even if you don’t get flu symptoms or have mild ones, you can still pass the virus to patients, co-workers, family members and others. Flu can be a very serious, even fatal, illness, especially for those who are immune-compromised, have chronic medical conditions, or are greater than 60 years or less than 5 years of age.

Who should NOT receive the influenza vaccine?
Influenza vaccine should be administered annually to everyone except the following:
a. Less than 6 months of age
b. A life-threatening reaction following a previous dose of influenza vaccine
c. A history of Guillain-Barré syndrome within 6 weeks of a dose of influenza vaccine
d. If you are sick and do not feel well, wait until symptoms resolve

I have an egg allergy. Can I receive the influenza vaccine?
Yes. Egg allergy is not a reason to refuse the influenza vaccine. For those with a history of egg allergy (such as being unable to eat scrambled eggs), the CDC recommends a specific vaccine that does not contain egg protein (FluBlok).

I’m afraid of needles. Are there other options?
Yes, there is an intra-dermal version of the vaccine available to help get as many people vaccinated as possible. This vaccine is licensed for people 18 through 64 years.

The government puts mind control serum in flu shots. Don't let them inject you.

Flu is in full effect in MA now. 2009 H1N1 influenza A virus is the majority of cases, which is covered by the flu shot. Have fun being miserable in bed for 2 weeks, conspiracy theorists.

As great as H1N1 was for losing a quick 5lbs. I don't want to go through it again
