Bay is very, very good, is just hitting his prime, and the Sox have him for another year after this at a much lower price than Manny. That could allow them to go after Sheets and/or Sabathia in the offseason. Hansen wasn't going to turn it around here, which is a shame because for all the things the Sox do to protect their young pitchers, they totally went the opposite way for him for some reason. I think maybe with another team he'll do well, but here, he wasn't going to turn it around IMO. I really like Moss, but I'm not upset he's leaving. I was actually more upset that they gave up Dave Murphy in the Gagne trade. I'm just happy the Sox didn't give up Michael Bowden or Daniel Bard in any trade. Well, that, and Manny's gone. |
