________________________________________ [Dec 14,2012 11:22am - AndrewBastard ""] i mean if overall its the same stylistically as the other 3 movies, i'll enjoy it...they are what they are. I have my quarrels with some aspects but overall i love them. |

____________________________________ [Dec 16,2012 6:33pm - arilliusbm ""] The Goblin King was almost as bad as Jar Jar Binks. ALMOST. |
_________________________________________ [Dec 16,2012 6:36pm - Headbanging_Man ""] The Game of Riddles was definitely the best executed scene. Overall, quite enjoyable, but then it's been so long since I've read the book that I'm not inclined to be as picky as some Tolkienerds. |
________________________________ [Dec 16,2012 6:40pm - KEVORD ""] I liked their escape from the goblins. But the Goblin King was extremely lame. Especially his joke when he was killed. |
_____________________________________ [Dec 16,2012 7:34pm - Randy_Marsh ""] People are being far to critical and negative of this. I thought it was great. Definitely lived up to my expectations. 8/10. The Goblin King really wasn't suppose to be that badass anyways, he wasn't in the cartoon really anyways. It's a good movie that is worth seeing. |
________________________________ [Dec 16,2012 7:37pm - KEVORD ""] Randy_Marsh said: he wasn't in the cartoon really anyway.Opinion fail. |
____________________________________ [Dec 16,2012 7:38pm - trioxin245 ""] You cant use the cartoon as a comparison, there were tons of inconsistencies from the book. For instance, the scene where they escape the trolls because the trolls stay up all night arguing over how to cook them and the sun rises and turns them to stone was changed in the cartoon so that Gandalf shows up and magically makes the sun come up. I like the cartoon, but it's definitely not a shot for shot translation. |

____________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 8:21am - arilliusbm ""] This movie probably ranks in my top 5 of biggest let downs of all time. |
____________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 8:45am - arilliusbm ""] If anyone else didn't feel that this movie was rushed and half-assedly directed and produced in conparison to the LotR movies, then I dunno what to say to you. It was such a drop off compared to those movies, it's not even funny. Yes, I was entertained, and yes I LOVED some parts.. Especially the scenes in the beginning. But it is obvious Peter Jackson just wants to cash in and dumb this down. WHY DO FILI AND KILI NOT LOOK LIKE DWARVES, BUT HUMANS. FUCK OFF FILI AND KILI. YOU AINT EVEN DWARVES. The highlights? The music. The city, Smaug and... that's about it. |
____________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:18am - trioxin245 ""] Im going tonight. It sounds like most of you guys went in with much higher expectations than I have. I have been semi-excited since they announced they were making the hObbit but I definitely knew it wouldnt be as good as the trilogy. |
________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:21am - KEVORD ""] One of my biggest complaints was why do some of the dwarves look like humans and others look like guys with big noses glued to their faces? The makeup was horrible. |

The makeup was horrible. Yea, Fili and Kili. They showed up at Bilbo' s door and I almost left the theater in disgust. In fact, I was also contemplating walking out after the Goblin King. |

____________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:29am - arilliusbm ""] The fast frame rate made it so bad looking. It was like watching a Lifetime movie with dwarves and no sex scenes. |
________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:33am - KEVORD ""] When it started and looked like a soap opera I thought it just looked that way cause it was a flashback. Then it turned out the whole movie looked that terrible. |

________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:39am - xmikex ""] I'm glad it took 600 posts of you clowns debating movie times to get to someone actually discussing the film. There's a lot to criticize, but overall I was happy. 1. The film is very LOTR-4 after-though-ish. It has the same production design, and basically the exact same score as all 3 of the LOTR's. 2. Forced "LOL Radagast is t3h dRugz0rs" pipe smoking scene. Was that really the time for comic relief? 3. The voice of the Goblin King was Dame Edna. 4. What the hell was with that awkward video-game-y button mashing scene where they escape from the goblin kingdom? 5. Film tries way to hard to cram Dwarfy McDreamy in there and yeah Kili and Fili don't even look like dwarves. 6. Just like in LOTR the dialog goes to shit real easily (RE: Tolkien puking in his grave over "Let's hunt some orc!"). 7. I'll say it again because it's worth saying twice: I wish they could have found a way to make this it's own movie and not just another LOTR. It's like Peter Jackson only knows how to make 1 movie that isn't Meet the Feebles, and is content to make it 6 times in a row now. Criticisms aplenty but not the "biggest letdown of all time." |
____________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:42am - arilliusbm ""] 5th biggest letdown. The escape from the goblin kingdom is RIGHT UP THERE with the monkey scene in the new Indiana Jones. |

They're the youngest dwarves in the company, it's mentioned in the book that Kíli is practically beardless because he's so young. Also most of the shit that people keep referring to as "padding" is actually from the ROTK appendices. Man I'm glad I didn't see this in 48FPS |
________________________________ [Dec 17,2012 9:47am - KEVORD ""] Did anyone else notice that Christopher Lee was not looking at Gandolf when he was talking to him? He was looking off into space like his scenes were filmed at a different time and thrown into the film. |

Cherhoniak was so buthurt that I didnt like it...he thinks he's going to convince me otherwise with his words. |
