Yes, formicide was basically a Tewksbury band. I have a couple of songs off the first demo at www.nema.com/nsx/formicide if you want to check it out. Dumped from ancient tapes so the quality isn't all that.

thanks duff, i received the cd and i also dumped the practice video to DVD and will mail you a copy asap. if i can get it small enough, i'll see if there's somewhere i can post a small xvid version of it, but it's 2+ gig as it is, 35 minutes, so i'm not sure how small i can go and still make it worthwhile to download.

You probably wouldn't remember me by name, so no worries there!

But I used to know some of the guys around Krucix, the Maciariellos, Steve Herdegen, etc. I played in a lot of metal/hardcore crossover type bands, Alert, etc. I probably saw more Krucix gigs in the old days, but I do remember seeing a few later gigs. Didn't you guys play with Nerve Womb (ex-Atomicaust) up in Manchester at some dive?

Thanks on the tracks. Yeah, Krucix was one of my early inspirations so if by some chance you guys get back together or anything, let me know if you need help (shows, etc). It's so great just to hear from you guys.

yeah ... i think we did ... that dump is still there i believe under a new name.
i do remember playing at the Empire Theatre in Manchester ... that place rocked. The back room for bands was like this cave.

I remember that place too! I wonder if I ever played there with Alert. Possible.

I really need to set up some kind of reunion fest, with a lot of oldschool bands, even if they just played a few songs (like 2-3 each) and shared gear, for fun.

Krucix, Terrasphere, Wargasm, Subjugator, Deslok, Demise, CSDO, Formicide, Atomicaust, Meliah Rage, Cardinal Sin, PBA, etc, etc and then toss on a few newer bands like mine that fit in.

It would be a good time. Maybe some day something like that can happen. Boston has a pretty rich thrash/speed heritage.

I could probably get Hearing Impaired back together for a one-off; we'd probably actually be able to play those songs now!

...or DimmaK...we were the original Dimmak, LONG before that limey version from the UK

[Jun 9,2006 12:39pm - DrinkHardThrashHard ""]
I thought Dim Mak was ex-Ripping Corpse? There were two Dimmak's before that?

Hearing Impaired back together would rule. Say, do you have those .mp3s up anywhere? The six-song demo?

[Jun 9,2006 12:45pm - Dave at work  ""]
Yeah man, we're going to re-release the original 6 song demo along with the unreleased second demo as a CD retrospective. The playing's horrible though...yikes.

[Jun 9,2006 12:47pm - DrinkHardThrashHard ""]
Man, that band was fun as hell. Who cares what the playing was like.

[Jun 9,2006 12:49pm - Dave at work  ""]
I know...it's just hard to listen back to your first band, when you were like 15, you know? I'm sure you can relate...

I totally can. When I put on that Madcap "Mental Foliage" demo, I shudder.

This would be so insane but I can tell you Cardinal Sin, Deslok and Demise won't EVER get back together for various reasons but I can tell you I'd be all over this...it would be pretty amazing indeed!

Yep...off the first demo...one of the first songs I wrote in it's entirety

So in other words, I have to cover "Relic of Depression" and "Winds of Death" myself?

Wait a minute, isn't Cardinal Sin already back together?!?

Cardinal Sin, as far as I know according to John, will NEVER get back together...and yes if you want to do Winds of Death I would be honored!

We should just do an Extinction Agenda covers album, where we cover songs from each old thrash band, and maybe some Dungeonbat and December Wolves too.

So hard to find any info on Terrasphere anymore, one of the Methuen legends besides Krucix.

I remember Frank and Terrasphere...that would be a killer concept...a local thrash band releasing covers of former thrash bands...I'd buy that!

any ideas on what you'd like to do? it's got to be a pretty lenghty list!
 ______________________________________________
[Jun 10,2006 10:38am - DrinkHardThrashHard ""]
I might start with...

Atomicaust "Castle of Insane Minds"
Demise "Winds of Death"
Deslok "Relic of Depression"
Executioner "Eye of the Needle"
Formicide "The Perfect Race"
Only Living Witness "C.O.P."
Wargasm "Bullets & Blades"

and Krucix, Subjugator, etc.

I don't have access to all the demos/songs, that's the only problem. Another thing is I'm not sure how keen the band will be on the idea, I have no idea if they know/listened to any of these bands. I'm sure they'll help but it might take awhile.

terrasphere's one of the few that actually got a release on a decent label, which make it stranger that there's little info out there.

[Jun 10,2006 12:20pm - duff138  ""]
actually it's spelled Terrahsphere, I jsut remember that's why I had found do little info before. They were a great Nashua, NH band!

You're right man, Terrah- weren't some of them from Methuen though?
