Im so glad Zircon got on this, total fucking chaos! Scott's gonna wet himself when he hears them live,I might just do the same! |

Belphegor is intense and the music and vocals are devastating. I look at myself as someone with a bit of knowlege in these issues after 11yrs of listening to this genre of music. GoatReich Fleshcult is there latest masterpiece and the new album comes out here in the states on October 31. I bet you $10 bucks I catch you banging your head for them!!! |

Maybe towards the end of this year. |

_________________________________________ [Sep 20,2006 3:30pm - SacreligionNLI ""] i was talking about the local openers...the reason why they sometimes put on a "crappy" band that doesn't fit is because they want to make sure the headliner is actually playing to somebody quick question, how do you go about properly promoting a BM show? all i can think of is going to other shows and flyering, which I'm pretty sure they don't have the manpower for...because radio/newspaper ads sure as hell won't do shit for this |

_________________________________________ [Sep 20,2006 3:34pm - SacreligionNLI ""] im not saying they do...i'm just commenting on the fact that they probably won't book all local black metal to open this show for that reason, they'll probably go with bands they've booked in the past that they know can bring in heads |

Get a good lineup together, with some local talent and headliners or just a great local lineup. 2. Book the proper-sized venue, you can't expect a lot of people for a black metal show in the US so you want something with the right atmosphere. 3. Don't promote it on flyers as a 'black metal' show, promote it as a metal show. Anyone with half a brain will realize by looking at the logos what kind of metal it is. Radio/newspapers do not have half a brain, therefor they will run it thinking it's rock or metal. |

If I had a show with international black and death bands I would: Get my show listing on every available forum/metal listing site, get in every concert listing for all area newspapers, flyer my ass off (doesn't really require that much manpower - a promoter and his friends if they actually go to shows regularly could do it no problem), sell tickets on Ticketmaster, put up flyers in every record store in the NE area (need friends to help with this), contact all local college radio shows that play metal/extreme music and get them to announce it on air. |

Literally, a dozen metal shows a week or more. Maybe not all the 'quality' bands, but to the average metal fan, they don't discriminate that much. Quite insane. |

But even with all locals if you put together a show that makes sense and make it sound appealing to people, it can be very successful. You just have to have a sense that you are creating an event, not just throwing together some bands at a bar and then being lazy about promoting it. |
