Yeah. Then add some members and continue on the Norma Jean-clone road? Yeah. Then one night they realized that breakdowns and dischords are out, but hammer ons are in? Oh yeah. Then they got a bassist who could tap, because all the good bands have bassists that can tap? Who can forget. Then when they got "signed" to Grind Structure and started structuring their songs in a faux-grind format, which equals more jubba-jubba hammer ons/pull offs? Uh-huh. Then when they decided/realized that their image meant more than their ability to write music and overt obcenity and redundancy was the new thing (like ironicly long names and pluralizations)? I know, right? Case in point, this band is not good. I was going to put a 'that' in there but thought that it would imply that they had some saving grace. Go practice more hammer ons and start stealing more riffs. Congrats. |

| __________________________________ [Oct 1,2007 7:09pm - tagalong ""] because all music is completely carried by guitar and bass. if you plan on giving a half-assed review pretending you know what you are talking about, at least give the band the pleasure of doing a bad job at describing the drums and vocals too. not everybody that listens to this stuff plays guitar, or any instrument for that matter. it doesn't matter what chords or fundamentals are used whether the band knows what they are or not. . good songs can be really simple, and bad songs can be really complex. bad songs can have a strong underlying structure, and good songs can have almost-no structure. what is important is the impact. if a band doesn't make my head explode because of how the music makes me feel, then it is just not worth listening to. but give everything a chance, even if there is literally nothing on the track, if you get a strong vibe, it's a damn good song. |

The people (or maybe just 1 person, who knows) sticking up for Beautiful Gorgeous in this thread are idiots if they think this takes "thought and skill." There is no flow to any of the music, transitions (where there are transitions) are half-assed, overall technique and chops seem like a crapshoot, and any groove and/or rhythm that they capture just disappears within mere seconds. If it is their intention to create music with the aforementioned qualities (or lack there of), then it's a stupid idea. I'd like to see what sort of compelling argument I can get tossed at me aside from the usual "lol, you just don't understand it" bullshit.
