Almost!

Shit, I'd like to see OBITUARY I guess, but I won't be caught dead within 20 miles of the Palladium till Sunday.

I wish KING DIAMOND was just playing the Middle East or something.

These line-ups suck. Day 1 is shit, 2 the same, spare Cryptopsy and Red Chord. Day 3 seems to be the best route, King D being worth it alone. I want to see Nile and Soilwork even if that makes me gay. Internal Bleeding, or as I like to call "42 Breakdowns" are boring as shit, I saw them in Vegas and wanted to sleep. Theres nothing I hate more than loooong songs. I'm highly looking forward to the Melt Banana/An Albatross show on 4/18.

God dammit. Bury Your Dead and Walls of Jericho are on the same day as Nightwish and Sonata Arctica. I fucking hate those bands, especially after last year. Those asswipes kept encouraging people to JUMP ON the people in the front row. Even after they saw me carrying my girlfriend out (She was knocked unconscious by one of those fuckrags that jumped on us.)

Blah blah blah you shouldn't have been in the front row for a hardcore show. We weren't fucking there to see hardcore. We wanted to see Iced Earth and Bodom and it would've been impossible to get up to the railing during them. And we didn't get to see them AT ALL because of that asswipe.

so stay out back for the hardcore bands and then work your way towards the front during the bands you want to see.

most people know well enough to stay away from the pit and to watch out during hardcore bands.

Damn bro, what's the reason for the shattak? Just so you and anyone else who cares knows, we don't just not play shows 'cause we think that would be cool or something. We've never just not shown up or canceled for no reason. Give me a break. The first few years of the band had our drummer living 5 hours away from the rest of us, making shows very hard. The entire time we've played I've had a "real" job or whatever and haven't been able to take off for long enough to do a real extensive tour... believe me, nobody feels shittier about it than I do, but I own a house and have shit to take care of at home. We play out as far as we can without losing too much. In the 6 years as a band, I've personally lost over $3000 of my cash. I'm not rich, been without a place to call home and I do what I have to to survive. We've had two vans blow up en route to shows as well, stopping us from making to one (while we still managed to get to Detroit for the other just in time to play) and then causing us to cancel others. We've had to cancel a show due to one of us finding our father dead the day before. We've also gone through 3 drummers, 3 bassists, and 3 guitarists over the years... every time a drummer was out, we were on a hiatus for a while, thus having to cancel shows. As for Hellfest being in our back door or whatever was said, that also is not exactly true. It's about 7-7.5 hrs. from here to there. We've had to turn down 3 Euro tours due to us not having the financial means to pull it off. We're not rich kids. We don't live off mom and pop. Most of us don't even have computers or internet (like my 30 year old ass). We play ugly grind on half stolen equipment. We don't give a shit about being cool or trendy or popular or rockstarish from this junk. From day one it's been about fun and noise and I can promise you that we've done our best not to fuck shit over. If we would be asked to play this fest or whatever people are saying, we would, but we never were. Do we want to play NE areas ? Of course! I'm dying to play new england and have never gotten over being pissed that we had to sit dormant for the RI and Mass shows that we had on our first tour with Phobia (another case of us being over a $1000 in the whole at that point in the tour due to Necropolis Records falling out on their agreement to pay our van... missed two awesome shows in awesome cities that we really want to play). Bottom line is I don't know what Goratory said at MDF or whatever (hope not talking smack because I really like those guys) but I don't appreciate bullshit that isn't really accurate or at least void of the whole story. We've done the best we could with the shitty conditions and I would hope that any reasonable person could understand that.

Keep up the awesome work at Return to the Pit and thanks to all the cats who have supported CODC over the years... we appreicate it more than you can imagine and it truly is what has kept things going at some of the most difficult times.

Less War.
More Fuckin'.

I am by NO WAY talking smack guys dude. I was saying how you guys played Maryland when it was said you never play out of state. By the way, HUman Harvest has the sickest vocals EVER. Keep tearin it up guys.

Yeah. Like you can get to the railing without being there all day. Furthest I've ever managed to "work my way" to is 3 people behind. Perhaps I flew too close to the sun that day, but still.

Haha... not trying to put you or anyone in any place, bro, just gets frustrating as hell reading stuff like that when you know you the best you can are constantly upset by the situations yourself.... you know how it is... we've all had it in our own ways.

I promise we'll be there as long as nobody quits or breaks anything vital or whatever. Haha! So amped to play with and see Grief!
:nuke:

BTW... thanks to all the guys/gals on Return to the Pit who have supported and backed CODC over the years. We appreicate it so much.

oh it's cool goratory.... i misread anyway... i was thinking it meant the band said something, not you (didn't see somebody had the name goratory on here). i agree, no point in missing the MDDF! we were really fortunate to play the first 2 years along with Brodequin and Malignancy. wish all 3 of us were on it this year too! we will be playing the return of the Ohio Deathfest (which actually was the precursor to MDDF) this year and are excited to play!

p.s. Thanks for the awesome comments about the vocals!

i would almost bet they get killswitch engage or shadows fall to fill in. some 'big' band that has been at the fest a million times who they could get on short-ish notice. i know that doesn't exactly sound like an appealing replacement to nightwish for most of you...
 _____________________________________
[Feb 13,2005 3:18pm - i_am_not_me ""]
Certainly doesn't. I've seen both of those bands WAY too fucking much. Wouldn't be nearly enough to get me to buy a Saturday ticket (Only bands that I like on Saturday right now are Cryptopsy and SYL. And I could easily see Cryptopsy on Friday for a bit longer and lots less money.)

Still going Sunday, though. KING FUCKING DIAMOND

Shadows Fall will be on the Slipknot tour and Killswitch better not play. I do like them, but I have seen them way too many times.

Sonata Artica is still playing several U.S dates, including Metalfest. Just Nightwish canceled.

Hmmm. A "HUGE" band is supposedly being brought in. Does Killswitch Engage really justify having huge in caps like that? That kind of thing would make me think like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, or Slayer.

gizmachi just got added. werent they supposed to be on that tour? who freaking knows...

i just hope this "huge" band is sodom. THEN how many of you might make an appearence saturday night...?

Sodom hardly qualifies as that huge. I'd sure as hell go, though.

i wouldnt expect slayer or a band of that caliber to play. Slayer could basically sell out the Palladium themselves, so them at the fest wouldnt make much financial sense. I'd expect a lower band like In Flames

But In Flames wouldn't justify capitalizing HUGE like that.

Yea In Flames may be huge, but I'm not exactly sure what HUGE entails. But I don't think that a band like Slayer could be booked. I dunno ... what would an in between band be?
